I'm a PIO — an acronym in the public safety profession for public information officer — passionate about getting the right information to the right people at the right time as a spokesperson, storyteller and speaker.
Since 2004, I've developed and delivered strategic messaging through numerous critical incidents impacting the environment and public health, as well as high-profile law enforcement cases that attracted national media coverage.
In almost 10 years as a journalist in newsrooms from South Carolina to Dallas, I learned to write and deliver facts in a way people can easily understand. I still use those same skills to inform and engage audiences.
In addition to assignments as a contract instructor for an international training firm, I've delivered media relations training and presentations on some of the biggest stages in the public safety profession.
